The Colorado Energy Research Collaboratory (a joint initiative between the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State University, and the University of Colorado), invited participates from 10 states to join a Sept 19, 2016 summit held on the CU Boulder campus related to the potential formation of a Regional Clean Energy Innovation Partnership (RCEIP). There were over 167 attendees in person and over 26 that watched the live stream on Sept 19.

FACT SHEET: Mission Innovation
On Monday in Paris, President Obama, President Hollande, and other world leaders will launch Mission Innovation, a landmark commitment to dramatically accelerate public and private global clean energy innovation. Through the initiative, 20 countries representing 80 percent of global clean energy research and development (R&D) budgets are committing to double their respective R&D investments over five years. These additional resources will dramatically expand the new technologies that will define a future global power mix that is clean, affordable, and reliable. For more information click here.

Colorado Energy Research Collaboratory
The Colorado Energy Research Collaboratory is a research consortium among four leading research institutions—the Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State University, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and the University of Colorado Boulder. The Collaboratory works with industry partners, public agencies, and other universities and colleges to:
- Create and speed the commercialization of renewable energy technologies, energy management systems, and energy efficiency
- Support economic growth in Colorado and the nation with renewable energy industries
- Educate our nation’s finest energy researchers, technicians, and workforce.

Sept 19, 2016 Regional Summit Information

- Linking local energy needs and regional industrial development to convert government R&D investment into domestic companies, industries, and jobs
- Utilizing private businesses, research universities, and economic development agencies to mobilize support for regional energy cluster initiatives
- Building on existing knowledge clusters and comparative strengths of a geographic region to address regional energy needs
We used breakout sessions to explore regional strengths, needs and opportunities in grid/storage, food/energy/water, energy/climate and renewable sources that serve the North-Central / Inter-mountain West region of the United States. We invited participants from ND, SD, NE, KS, WY, MT, ID, UT, NM and Colorado. The Colorado Energy Research Collaboratory hosted this regional summit on the University of Colorado Boulder campus. The upcoming regional summit included representatives from industry, academia, national labs, NGO’s and government.
